Update: February 2026
SPLITS and GIGGLES won the spirited TUESDAY NITE MIXED league in a four
team total pins roll-off. Here are the numbers: Splits and Giggles 2,685 pins; Taco Tuesday 2,648 pins; Double A Orchards 2,597 pins; and C.P.R. 2,591 pins.
Congratulations to Splits and Giggles team members MELISSA HAGER, ADAM
LAPIERRE, MOLLY HARPEL and ADAM INGERSOLL. Hail to the champions, a
gritty team of new bowlers. Who said it couldn’t be done in this highly
competitive league of long time Orchard Lanes regulars. As you can see by the
scores, the final outcome was really close with the winning margin only a mere 37 pins. Leading scorers in the match were Adam Ingersoll and Adam LaPierre for Splits ang Giggles with nice 205 and 204 games, respectively; Bobby Steele led Taco Tuesday with a big 219 game; all-star Erin Salisbury and Aaron Asai fired 216 and 206 games for Double A Orchards; and Skip Whitley was the big man on campus with a 222 game for C.P.R.
In the regular matches during the month there were some mighty fine scores:
Who Gives a Split’s Patrick Olson tossed 721 and 709 sets; most notable was Are
You Splitting Me’s Austin Reed who busted the sticks to the tune of a wowza 686 series which was a whopping 200 pins over his average! Long time all-star, silky smooth finesse artist Jeremy Bloom chipped in 684, 671 and 657 sets for his Dusty Ball Bags quartet. Jeremy, who is recovering from a broken neck is
returning to his league leading form!
The Monday night INDUSTRIAL league is rolling along fine, thank you very much.
With just one week left in the third and final round in the league, the powerhouse Pat’s Pro Shop trio is leading with 136.5 points. Team MTS is second with 129 points. After the third round is done, the league moves into its unique bracket tournament that will determine the champion. The format is just like March Madness in college basketball. Current top seeds in the brackets are Triple T’s, Pat’s Pro Shop, MTS, and Mt. Hood BBQ.
There’s been a bunch of big scores in the Industrial league: Pat’s Pro Shop’s Pat
Olson notched huge 774 and 733 sets; Orchard Lanes’ all-star Nancy Asai, who
has been in a bit of a slump, blasted out of it with a fantastic 723 series which
was 183 pins over her average; and Pat’s Pro Shop’s Joey Sheirbon, who is having a great season, shot a cool 710 set which was 104 pins over his average.
Decavo’s Ryan Hinkley also had a splendid outing topping his average by 155
pins and Onyx’s Carmen Villafana starred again by beating her average by 104
pins.
There are still 6 weeks to go in the second half of the Wednesday afternoon
COLTS and FILLIES senior league. Currently Gutt-er-Done is in first with 24 wins;
the first half winner, Pins in Low Places is second with 22.5 wins; Rolling Pins are
in third with 21 wins; and Cousins are in fourth with 20 wins. The second half is a
toss-up, any of these teams can easily win.
However, fair warning to all who line up against Gutt-er-Done, it’s not going to be easy to beat them as Gutt-er-Done’s inimitable anchor-man Rod Pratt, is on a
scoring spree in the league having posted sets of 664, 659 and 657 during the
month. And his teammate, Janet Hinckley joined in on all of that pin busting by
topping her average by 114 pins.
5 weeks to go in the third round of the classy Wednesday night FRATERNAL
league. Currently, Mt. Hood BBQ is in first place with 94 points. Bloom Auto Body is in second with 90 points.
JMP’s Phillip Exline absolutely burst onto the renowned Hood River bowling
scene with an incredible scoring effort, firing a huge 758 series which was 248
pins over his average. Phillip is a new bowler to the game this season and he’s a
two-hander. It’s amazing what those two handers can do to the poor pins. All we can say is WOW! Great bowling Phillip. Additionally, Phillip Exline’s teammate
James Maupin beat his average by 119 pins and Bloom Auto Body’s Bryan Mason topped his average by 110 pins.
The rambunctious COUNTY league has four weeks to go in its second half. Team
Holy Guacabowlie has added some jalapenos to their efforts lately. They are hot
and have opened up a 6 game lead in first place with 28 wins. The
Unbowlievables are in second with 22 wins.
Team Chiquita’s Blake Willis avoided slipping on that banana peel and is basking
in the limelight by beating his average by 113 pins. The Incredibowls Rod Pratt is
also using this league for target practice, cranking out 633, 606 and 603 sets to lead everybody in scoring.
